Although they try hard not to fight, Carlos and Ivonne keep having arguments about money. Carlos has stopped hanging around with his homeboys, but it is too late. No change he makes is enough for Ivonne to feel secure or happy with Carlos anymore. Aunque intentan no pelear Carlos e Ivonne siguen discutiendo por dinero. Carlos deja de vagar con sus homeboys, pero es tarde para Ivonne. Ahora ningún cambio que él haga será suficiente para que Ivonne se sienta segura y feliz con Carlos.

Carlos works driving a cab at night. He takes care of his daughter Andrea in the daytime. Carlos trabaja como taxista por las noches y pasa sus días cuidando a su hija Andrea.

For Andrea's sake, Carlos and Ivonne decide to try to live together again as a family. They still do not trust one another very much, but besides Andrea they are all that each other has. Por el bien de Andrea, Carlos e Ivonne deciden intentar vivir juntos como familia otra vez. No confían uno en el otro, pero aparte de Andrea no tienen a nadie más.

The reunion between Carlos with Ivonne is short–lived. One day he is stopped by immigration police. They discover he has no documents and he is deported back to El Salvador leaving his teenage girlfriend and baby alone in L.A. Pero la unión de Carlos con Ivonne, no duró mucho. Un día él es detenido por agentes de inmigración. Descubrieron que Carlos no tenía documentos y él es deportado hacia El Salvador, dejando solas a su novia y a su hija estadounidense en Los Angeles.
